My Hands Are Full!!!

Wow! This parenting thing is tough on a 39 year old!

Here in the last few days Jay has really started to crawl. And today he figured out that he could pull up on the furniture...and on my PS3...and in the sink while he's getting a bath!

He's also very inquisitive and very determined. when he sees something he wants, he's goes for it - and promptly puts it in his mouth! It's as if he has tasted independence and he wants more.

I'm getting to old for this...

5:30 AM

It's been a good weekend. Jay has slept in the crib for three nights
straight! He even ate some sqaush from a spoon.

He's been sleeping 9pm to 4am these past few days. Usually he wakes at
4, takes a bottle and a diaper change, and goes right back to sleep.
But, this morning he didn't want to back to sleep - he wanted to walk!

So we walked.

We walked until he fell asleep on my shoulder, where he is now.

You got to keep walking!

Wide Awake

Jay has been sleeping well at night. he always has really. As a newborn, he would wake every few hours for feeding, etc. Now he typically wakes up one time, or even sleeps the whole night through.

Last night, E offered to let me sleep upstair the whole night while she tended to Jay downstair. We call this "flying solo" in the Kennedy house. When E made her offer we both thought it would be no big deal. He would wake at 2 or 3 AM, get feed and changed, and go back to sleep. Typical night, no problem.

BABIES ARE NOT TYPICAL!! Or so we learned (or should I say Edith learned last night!).

First, Jay woke around 12:30 AM... then again around 3:45 AM. But this time he didn't go back to sleep. He wasn't fussy mind you. He was a happy little guy - cooing and smiling the entire time. Edith, bless her, let me sleep! so when I came downstairs a little after 5 AM She had hardly slept a wink and Jay was over in his bouncy smiling and wiggling!

This JayWalking is definitely a Journey!!! We'll get there.
